I want to remind you you’re not alone…
You show up every day doing your best, but inside there’s a quiet voice that doubts whether you’re enough. You second-guess your choices, your abilities, and even your worth. Imposter syndrome keeps sneaking in at the most inconvenient times, leaving you wondering if anyone would notice if you weren’t “keeping it together.”
You crave a space where you can finally speak openly, without judgment, without feeling like you have to perform or explain yourself. A place where your thoughts, your struggles, and your messy, complicated feelings are met with understanding rather than correction.

The stuck point…
You’ve tried pushing through, telling yourself you’ll figure it out on your own. But somewhere along the way, the self-doubt starts to weigh heavier. The energy you spend hiding, explaining, and “just coping” leaves little room for joy, growth, or even breathing.
You wonder what it would feel like to finally give yourself permission to heal. To slow down, to confront what’s holding you back, and to truly reclaim your sense of self. You’re ready for relief, clarity, and a way forward, but you just need the right space and guidance to get there.
If that resonates, you’re not alone! That’s exactly why therapy exists.
My approach to therapy
I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to share their stories. My approach is collaborative and client-centered and focuses on practical strategies and personal strengths to help clients foster growth and resilience. Whether that means helping clients navigate through life transitions, managing stress, or building healthier relationships. Together, we will work toward clarity, healing, and meaningful change.
Are you feeling stuck in old patterns and ready for real change? Many people come to therapy feeling weighed down by stress, self-doubt, or repeating cycles that no longer serve them. Together, we can explore what’s holding you back, uncover your strengths, and create practical steps toward the life you want to live. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion and guidance, offering a safe space to process challenges while empowering you to make lasting, meaningful changes.
Tools include cognitive reframing, self-affirmations, mindfulness, and empowerment. We’ll use evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs, always.
Every session is designed to be a safe, warm space where you can share openly. You’ll have the freedom to say what you need, explore what matters most to you, and leave with practical strategies for both in- and out-of-session growth.
Let’s Get Started

Hi, I’m Carmellita Johnson, LMSW
Why I do this work?
Therapy, to me, is so much more than talking. It’s a place to break old patterns, build confidence, and reconnect with your authentic self. It’s about discovering your strengths, learning to trust yourself, and realizing that you are capable of growth, resilience, and lasting change. I believe that real transformation begins the moment you give yourself permission to heal, explore, and redefine what’s possible for your life.
My passion for this work comes from my own experiences. Growing up in Nashville, I struggled with shyness, anxiety, and the pressure of trying to fit in. I spent a lot of time worrying about what others thought of me, torn between meeting expectations and being my true self. Those experiences planted the seed for my purpose: to create a space where people feel safe, seen, and supported, especially when it comes to the parts of themselves that have been ignored, silenced, or judged.
Through my training and experience as a school counselor, in inpatient psychiatric and medical hospitals, and serving low-income communities, I’ve seen how life’s challenges affect people from all walks of life. I’ve also experienced the impact of imposter syndrome and the weight of feeling like you’re “never enough.” These experiences shape the way I work: providing support, building self-worth, strengthening communication, and helping clients move toward healing with compassion and understanding.
Outside the office
When I’m not in session, I focus on the things that recharge me and bring joy. Coffee and chocolate are my little daily comforts because they remind me to slow down and savor life. I value balance and try to bring it into every part of my life: working hard to help others while making space for family, friends, and personal growth. You’ll often find me spoiling my cats, exploring new restaurants, taking long walks while listening to music, traveling, or indulging in a little self-care and shopping.
These simple joys help me stay grounded and energized, so I can bring my best self into the work I do with clients.
