Have you ever felt like you’re just going through the motions?
You wake up, do what needs to be done, and keep moving. From the outside, it might look like you have things under control, but on the inside it feels like something is missing. Maybe it’s the weight of unspoken worries, old patterns that keep showing up, or the quiet thought that life was supposed to feel different than this.
The truth is, life isn’t always neat and tidy. Sometimes it’s messy, complicated, and unfair. And when you’re in the middle of it, it can feel isolating. You might even tell yourself, “I should be able to handle this,” while deep down wishing you had a space to be honest without judgment.
That is where therapy comes into play.
Therapy is not about fixing you because you’re not broken. It’s about creating a space where you can take a breath, get curious, and uncover what’s really going on beneath the surface. When working with your therapist, you’ll have real conversations about the tough stuff, about the changes you want to make, and about the small wins worth celebrating.
I believe therapy works best when it’s authentic and collaborative. You get to decide the pace and the direction, and I’ll be there alongside you with tools, encouragement, and a willingness to sit in the hard moments too.
Here’s the truth: growth is not always comfortable, but it is possible. You deserve a life that feels aligned with who you are, one rooted in dignity, worth, and your own vision of what’s next.
If you’re ready to step into that space, I’d be honored to walk with you on the journey.
My approach is direct, compassionate, and change-focused always.
My background in special education shaped the way I show up as a therapist. Patient, attuned, and deeply aware of how differently each person learns, processes, and connects. It gave me a strong foundation for working with neurodiverse clients and helped me build an approach that honors the whole person, not just the symptoms they carry.
My work with the Association of Infant Mental Health in Tennessee (AIMHiTN) strengthened my understanding of how early experiences and relationships shape our patterns, our sense of self, and the beliefs we carry into adulthood. I use this lens to help clients make meaningful connections between their past and present so they can move forward with clarity, compassion, and a renewed sense of agency.
Clients who work with me can expect a therapeutic relationship that is direct, warm, and truly collaborative. We’ll set goals together that feel both achievable and aligned with the life you want to build. I integrate practical tools like solution-focused strategies, the “miracle question,” and gentle role-play, to help you imagine change, practice new skills, and feel more prepared for real-life moments that matter.
Above all, I want therapy with me to feel like a space where you can breathe, be honest, feel understood, and explore who you are becoming. My role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, accountability, and care as you move toward the version of yourself you’re ready to step into. Let’s get started!

Hi, I’m Elaina Manuel, LMSW
I helping people reconnect with themselves, their relationships, and their capacity to grow.
My path to becoming a therapist started long before my career did. Growing up in the South, I learned early on how powerful our environments, communities, and families are in shaping us. Sometimes in ways that lift us up, and sometimes in ways we spend years trying to make sense of. Those experiences pulled me toward social work, toward supporting people through the parts of life that feel confusing, heavy, or lonely, and toward helping them build something more intentional for themselves.
I’ve worked with individuals across the lifespan (kids, teens, adults, couples, families, and veterans), each carrying their own story and their own version of resilience. What I’ve learned is this: healing happens when we have a safe place to show up as we are, without judgment, and with someone willing to sit in both the hard conversations and the hopeful ones.
My background in special education strengthened my ability to truly meet people where they are, especially neurodiverse clients. During my time with the Association of Infant Mental Health in Tennessee, I deepened my understanding of how early relationships and childhood experiences shape our emotional world. That lens helps me guide clients in connecting the dots between past and present in ways that create clarity, compassion, and forward movement.
In therapy with me, you can expect a direct but supportive style. We’ll set goals together. Goals that feel realistic, meaningful, and aligned with who you’re becoming. I often use solution-focused tools, like imagining what life could look like if change were already underway, and I incorporate role playing when it helps build confidence for real-life moments.
My approach is collaborative, grounding, and practical. You bring your story; I help you make sense of it and support you in building what comes next.
Academically, I completed my MSW at Middle Tennessee State University, with earlier training in studio art and special education. My clinical experience includes work with the Department of Veterans Affairs, AIMHiTN, and higher-level care supporting people with co-occurring mental health and substance use needs.
Outside of the therapy room
I’m always learning, always creating, and always finding ways to stay connected to the values that brought me into this field: dignity, justice, curiosity, and the belief that growth is possible at every stage of life.
If you’re looking for a therapist who is steady, honest, and deeply invested in your healing then I’d be honored to work with you.
