Running

Have you ever felt like you’re doing what needs to be done, but still feel stuck?

You wake up, handle what’s in front of you, and keep moving.

From the outside, it may look like you have things under control. You’re functioning. You’re showing up. You’re getting through the day.

But internally, something feels off.

Maybe your mind rarely slows down. Maybe old patterns keep resurfacing even when you’ve tried to move past them. Maybe you’ve gotten so good at pushing through that you barely notice how much you’re carrying until it starts showing up in your relationships, your stress level, or the way you feel in your own body.

Sometimes it can feel confusing. Sometimes frustrating. Sometimes isolating.

You may even catch yourself thinking, I should be able to handle this.

And at the same time, part of you knows you want a space where you can be honest (without judgment, pressure, or pretending).

Zen ImageThat is where therapy comes into play.

Therapy is not about having all the right words or knowing exactly where to begin.

It is about having a place where you can slow down enough to notice what is happening beneath the surface.

Together, we make sense of the patterns that keep showing up, the stress that feels hard to name, and the experiences that may still be shaping how you think, relate, cope, and move through life.

My approach is direct, warm, and collaborative.

I’m easy to talk to, engaging, and honest. I believe therapy works best when it feels real. That means I will meet you with compassion, but I will also be straightforward. I won’t simply nod along. I will help you notice patterns, challenge what is no longer serving you, and support you in creating meaningful change.

You set the pace. We build the work together.

Hi, I’m Kendra Estes, LMSW

K Estes Head ShotFrom Surviving to thriving

Before stepping into outpatient therapy, much of my work was in corrections and substance use treatment. Spaces where struggle can feel relentless and survival becomes second nature.

I spent years working with people carrying shame, grief, trauma, addiction, and stories they believed defined them. I saw how easy it is to get stuck in cycles that feel impossible to break. How people can begin moving through life on autopilot…disconnected, exhausted, emotionally numb, or unsure of who they are outside of survival mode.

And eventually, many people reach the same place:

They get tired of being tired.

They want something to change, but they don’t know where to begin.

That is where our work starts.

My philosophy is simple…

You are more than the worst thing that ever happened to you.
And you are more than the worst thing you have ever done.

You are a whole person who deserves a life that feels meaningful, connected, and worth living.

My approach to therapy is direct, strengths-based, and focused on helping you create practical change that aligns with what matters most to you.

Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all.

I’m not the therapist who quietly nods and says “tell me more” for fifty minutes while you leave wondering what just happened. I believe therapy should feel active, honest, engaging, and real.

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, experiential activities, skill-building tools, and straightforward conversations to create a therapy experience that feels individualized to you.

Some days that may look like processing deeper emotional patterns.
Some days it may look like challenging beliefs that are keeping you stuck.
Some days it may look like practical problem-solving, learning coping strategies, or figuring out how to move forward differently.

The goal is not perfection. The goal is helping you move from surviving your life to actually living it.

Outside of the therapy room

Meaningful connection is one of the things that keeps me grounded.

I love spending time with family and friends. Whether that’s traveling, playing games, sharing meals, having long conversations, or simply being together.

Food, fun, and fellowship are a huge part of how I stay connected to myself and the people I love.

If you’re looking for a therapist who is steady, honest, and deeply invested in your healing then I’d be honored to work with you.
