You May Look Like You’re Handling Life Well. But It Doesn’t Feel That Way.

You may be the person who keeps everything together.

You show up for work. You take care of other people. You meet expectations. From the outside, it may look like you’re doing just fine.

But privately, you may feel overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected, stuck, or unsure of yourself.

Maybe you’re constantly overthinking, preparing for every possible outcome, or replaying conversations long after they happen. Maybe you’re tired of being the person everyone depends on. Maybe you recognize patterns in your relationships but don’t know how to change them.

You may be navigating anxiety, trauma or difficult life experiences, negative self-talk, people-pleasing, difficulty communicating your needs, relationship challenges, burnout, or a season of life that simply doesn’t feel like the life you want anymore.

And sometimes, the hardest part is that you already know what’s happening.

You know the pattern.

You just don’t know how to move differently.

Therapy That Makes Space for the Whole YOU.

I work with adults and couples who want a safe, conversational space to better understand themselves, challenge patterns that no longer serve them, and create a more intentional life.

My approach is warm, conversational, collaborative, and individualized. You don’t have to show up with the perfect words or have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

You can come in and dump your mind.

From there, we’ll slow things down enough to become curious about what’s happening beneath the surface.

Sometimes we’ll explore the experiences that shaped you. Sometimes we’ll challenge the way you currently see yourself. Sometimes we’ll look closely at a relationship pattern, uncomfortable emotion, boundary, or belief that has quietly influenced the decisions you make.

Therapy isn’t about fixing you.

It’s about understanding you.

We May Explore:

  • Anxiety, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm
  • Trauma and difficult life experiences
  • Relationship and communication patterns
  • Boundaries and people-pleasing
  • Self-esteem, self-image, and negative self-talk
  • Stress and burnout
  • Life transitions and identity
  • Personal growth and intentional living
  • Military and veteran-related experiences
  • Couples and relationship concerns

At the core of my work is a belief in safety over shame, curiosity over criticism, and grace over guilt.

Rather than only asking, “What’s wrong with me?” therapy can give us space to ask:

What happened?

What did I learn from it?

How has that shaped the way I show up today?

And who do I want to become from here?

My approach focuses on YODr+victoria+grinman 6+signs+it’s+time+to+focus+on+you.pngU and YOUR needs.

Your life is complex and layered. Your identity, relationships, beliefs, experiences, and environment have all played a role in shaping who you are today.

That means your therapy should be more than a checklist of symptoms.

Our work is individualized to you, your goals, your story, and what you need from the therapeutic process.

Depending on what brings you to therapy, our work may include mindfulness and grounding, self-affirmation, emotional regulation, boundary-setting, communication skills, trauma-focused approaches, goal development, self-care, and other tools that support you both inside and outside of session.

Most importantly, you don’t have to perform in therapy.

You don’t have to have the right words.

You don’t have to make your experiences sound reasonable.

You get to show up as your whole self.

Hi, I’m Kristin McCloud, LMSW

Helping others live intentionally became my goal.

Growing up, I was an only child in a single parent home.

My grandfather assisted at first, but by age 12, I was a full-blown latchkey kid. I know the reality of feeling alone. I was the isolated, bullied, overweight, nerdy girl. Positive self-thoughts? WHERE? Finding anything positive about myself was hard for me, so I relied on the world to tell me who I was. I didn’t believe I was worthy of being curious about myself.

No one should have to endure that, but it made me passionate about partnering with individuals to push through periods of stagnation and tackle life’s challenges.

At the core of my client work is the desire to support people in exploring themselves and how they show up in the world.

I graduated from UT Martin in 2014 with my B.S. in Psychology and went on to earn my MSW from USC in 2020.

I became an LMSW in 2021. I have served in various settings, from residential treatment centers for adolescents to juvenile detention centers, community mental health clinics, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals.

My purpose is to provide individuals with a space to experience safety over shame, curiosity over criticism, and grace over guilt.

I firmly believe that everyone can bounce back from life’s difficulties when given the right tools and support. I would love the opportunity to assist you in cultivating the life you desire.

Here, you have an understanding audience.

I am here to help you find balance that is rooted in your true identity.

I have watched people at their lowest, create something beautiful with their lives. There is no starting point that is too low or too dark to break through.

I will walk alongside you as you achieve greatness and fulfill your hopes and dreams.

Outside of Work…

I truly am the definition of a homebody.

When I have free time, I enjoy deep conversations with my friends. Music is like my heartbeat; it will always be playing in the background.

Fun fact: as a teen, I knew that I’d be a therapist one day.

No one could tell me otherwise. Once I did it, my next stop was a hairstylist.

Although I didn’t go to cosmetology school, I did become a licensed hair braider.
