You’re the one who keeps everything together- for everyone

On the outside, people think you’re strong, capable, and unbothered. You give good advice, show up for people you care about, and push through even when you’re exhausted. You’re the friend who notices when someone’s “off,” the coworker who handles the crisis, the family member who steps in before anyone else even realizes something is wrong.

But inside?

Your thoughts won’t slow down.

Your anxiety feels like it’s running the show.

Your emotions feel too big, too fast, or too confusing to name.

And you’re tired of pretending you’re okay when you’re not.

You’ve been carrying old wounds you never fully dealt with.

You’ve been navigating life transitions without a map.

You’ve been breaking down in private, then forcing yourself to “hold it together” in public.

And the overthinking? The self-doubt? The emotional shutdowns? They’re getting harder to ignore.

You’ve tried to talk yourself out of it.

You’ve tried staying busy.

You’ve tried being “strong.”

But now you’re realizing strength doesn’t mean holding everything in, it means letting yourself be supported.

I see you. I see the version of you that’s tired of surviving. I see the part of you that’s ready for clarity, peace, and relief. I see the pieces of your story you’ve never said out loud… and the courage it took to even consider therapy.

Hands

If you’re reading this a part of you already knows…

And if you’re here reading this, a part of you already knows:

You don’t want to keep doing life this way.

You’re ready for guidance.

You’re ready for accountability.

You’re ready for emotional grounding, NOT judgment.

You’re ready for practical tools you can actually use when anxiety spikes or emotions overwhelm you.

You’re ready for someone who knows the science and the psychology behind what you’re feeling… who can help you make sense of it instead of fighting it alone.

That’s where I come in.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in the belief that healing happens when you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to be vulnerable, and equipped enough to grow.

When you work with me, therapy won’t be about simply talking through problems. It will be about creating a clear, practical path forward. I blend evidence-based tools with genuine human connection so you walk away feeling understood and empowered.

In the room with me, we slow your thoughts down so your mind can finally breathe. Using CBT, we identify the patterns and beliefs fueling your anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm. You’ll learn how to interrupt spirals, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and create healthier mental habits that feel doable in real life.

We build emotional regulation tools you can actually use. With DBT-informed strategies, I help you understand your emotional responses,  not judge them. Together, we’ll develop skills for grounding, reducing emotional intensity, navigating triggers, and staying present even when your feelings feel loud.

We focus on solutions, not shame through techniques like Brainspotting.

In our work together, you aren’t defined by your past, your patterns, or a diagnosis. I use solution-focused techniques to help you imagine what change could look like, and then break it down into steps that feel manageable and meaningful.

We get to the root, not just the symptoms.

For clients carrying trauma, anxiety, or deeply stored emotional pain, I offer Brainspotting as a powerful tool to process what talk therapy alone can’t reach. Many clients come to me specifically for this work, and together we create a safe, gentle space for your nervous system to heal.

We build plans that fit your life- not just the therapy room.

I believe in actionable therapy. You’ll leave sessions with strategies you can use between sessions, whether that means coping tools, communication skills, or small shifts in behavior that create big change over time.

Hi, I’m Marquisha Ellis, LMSW

Why I do this work?

I believe therapy should be a space where people finally feel seen, not judged, rushed, or minimized. Growing up, I noticed how often people carried emotional burdens alone, and became committed to creating a space where clients can safely unpack their experiences, understand their emotions, and build new patterns that support long-term wellbeing.

My passion lies in helping clients understand why they feel the way they do and guiding them toward practical, life-changing tools they can actually use in their daily lives. I feel especially gifted at helping clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of how to move forward.

Outside the office

When I’m not supporting clients, I enjoy grounding myself in the things that bring me peace, joy, and connection like family time, meaningful conversations, exploring new hobbies, and practicing intentional self-care. These moments help me stay present, balanced, and fully available for the people I serve.
