Neurodivergence And Autism

You’ve spent a lot of your life feeling like you don’t quite fit into the boxes other people expect you to.

Maybe you’ve always been the “weird” one.

The one with the big imagination.
The one who feels things deeply.
The one who notices things other people miss.
The one who has spent years wondering why it seems so much easier for everyone else to just… fit in.

For some people, that feeling started in middle school. For others, it showed up later in life when they realized they were constantly masking, shrinking themselves, or pretending to be someone they weren’t just to feel accepted. And while you’ve learned how to get through the day, something still feels off.

You’re overwhelmed but can’t explain why.

You’re stuck but don’t know what’s keeping you there.

You’re grieving something you can’t quite put words to.

You’re carrying anger, anxiety, loneliness, self-doubt, or confusion, and you’re tired of feeling like you have to hide those parts of yourself to make other people comfortable.

The truth is…You don’t need another place that tells you how you should feel. You need a place where you can show up exactly as you are.

Messy.
Confused.
Burned out.
Heartbroken.
Overthinking.
Questioning everything.

Or simply trying to figure out who you are.

That’s where I come in…

My Approach to Therapy

I believe therapy should be one of the few places in life where you can show up unapologetically as yourself.

No masks.
No pressure to have the right words.
No expectation that you have everything figured out.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity concerns, anger, self-esteem struggles, or simply feeling stuck, every emotion you bring into the room serves a purpose. My goal is never to push difficult feelings away. Instead, we’ll learn how to acknowledge them, understand them, and create space for them while building a healthier, more fulfilling life.

I work with teens and adults who are ready for something deeper than surface-level coping skills. Many of my clients are people who have struggled to find a therapist who truly understands them. They’re often creative, thoughtful, introspective, and tired of feeling misunderstood.

I earned my Master of Social Work from Middle Tennessee State University and hold bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Indiana University. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, helping them navigate challenges while reconnecting with their strengths.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and authentic. Therapy with me feels less like being analyzed and more like having a meaningful conversation with someone who genuinely wants to understand your experience.

We create space for the emotions you’ve been avoiding.

Sadness, anger, grief, fear, uncertainty, shame, none of these emotions make you broken. Together, we’ll explore what they’re trying to tell you and learn how to respond to them in ways that support your growth rather than keep you stuck.

We help you get unstuck.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t knowing what’s wrong, it’s figuring out how to move forward. We’ll identify the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be keeping you trapped and begin creating meaningful change.

We embrace the parts of you that don’t fit the mold.

You don’t have to tone yourself down here. Therapy should be a place where your personality, creativity, quirks, passions, and individuality are welcomed. The goal isn’t to become someone else. It’s to become more fully yourself.

We build practical tools for real life and create a life that feels authentic.

Insight is important, but so is having tools you can actually use. Together we’ll develop coping strategies, communication skills, emotional regulation techniques, and healthier ways of navigating life’s challenges. You deserve more than simply surviving. Our work will focus on helping you build a life that feels aligned with your values, your goals, and the person you’re becoming.

Hi, I’m Sarah Robinson, LMSW

Why I do this work?

I’ve always been drawn to the stories people carry.

The parts they hide.
The emotions they struggle to explain.
The experiences that shape who they become.

I believe every person deserves a space where they can be fully themselves without fear of judgment. Some of the most meaningful growth happens when we stop trying to push difficult emotions away and instead learn how to understand them.

My goal as a therapist is to help people feel less alone in their struggles and more connected to who they truly are. Watching clients discover their strengths, gain confidence, and create meaningful change in their lives is one of the greatest privileges of this work.

Outside the office

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me involved in musical theatre, something I’ve loved since I was nine years old. Performing has taught me the value of creativity, self-expression, vulnerability, and finding joy in the process.

I love finding the art in everyday life and often bring that same sense of curiosity, creativity, and freedom into my therapy sessions. Healing doesn’t always have to look traditional. Sometimes growth happens through laughter, imagination, storytelling, and discovering new ways to express who you are.

If you’re looking for a therapist who welcomes your weird, values your individuality, and creates a space where you can show up exactly as you are, I’d love to connect with you.

Let’s see if we’re the right fit.
